Requirements
- macOS 11 Big Sur or later.
- A host that loads VST3 or Audio Units — Logic Pro, Ableton Live, FL Studio, Studio One, Reaper, Cubase and most others.
- No host? The standalone app works on its own: drop an audio file on its screen.
- Pro Tools isn’t supported yet; it needs AAX.
Install
- Open the download link from your purchase email and download the installer.
- Run it and choose the formats you want: VST3, AU, Standalone. All three are selected by default.
- Open your DAW. If it was already open, restart it so it picks up the new plugin.
- Load the plugin on a vocal track and activate it with your license key — see Licenses & activation.
Where the files go
The installer puts each format in the standard macOS folder for it:
- VST3:
/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3/—Ordinary Riser.vst3,Ordinary Align.vst3 - AU:
/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components/—Ordinary Riser.component,Ordinary Align.component - Standalone:
/Applications/—Ordinary Riser.app,Ordinary Align.app
Your own files live in your Music folder, so they’re easy to find and back up:
- Risers you drag or export:
~/Music/Ordinary Audio/Ordinary Riser/ - Aligned doubles:
~/Music/Ordinary Audio/Ordinary Align/ - Your Riser presets:
~/Music/Ordinary Audio/Ordinary Riser/Presets/
Find it in your DAW
Our plugins are listed under the manufacturer Ordinary Audio. Put Ordinary Riser on the vocal track itself, as an insert effect; Ordinary Align works on any track, or as the standalone app.
- Logic Pro: Audio FX › Audio Units › Ordinary Audio.
- Ableton Live: Plug-Ins › VST3 (or Audio Units) › Ordinary Audio.
- Other hosts: look for Ordinary Audio in the effects list, or search for “Riser” or “Align”.
Not showing up?
- Rescan plugins in your DAW’s preferences.
- In Logic Pro, open Plug-in Manager, select the plugin and choose Reset & Rescan Selection.
- In Ableton Live, check that Use VST3 Plug-In System Folders or Use Audio Units is on.
- Check that the files are in the folders listed above.

Uninstall
Delete the plugin’s files listed under Where the files go. Your risers, aligned doubles and presets in the Music folder stay where they are — delete that folder too if you don’t need them any more.
